Republican members of Congress have despatched a letter to Home Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California), demanding Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) apologize to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) for claiming he tried to have her killed.

“It has come to our consideration that Consultant Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez despatched out a tweet during which she accused Senator Cruz, in essence, of tried homicide,” the letter, which was obtained and revealed by Washington Examiner on Monday, reads.

The lawmakers are referring to a latest tweet from Ocasio-Cortez during which she mentioned Cruz was among the many Republicans who “virtually had me murdered,” referencing the US Capitol riot on January 6, which she has mentioned she holds Republicans who had pushed voter fraud conspiracy theories partially answerable for. 

Paradoxically, the tweet was in response to Cruz saying he agreed with Ocasio-Cortez about her assist of the person consumers motivated by the r/WallStreetBets subreddit to purchase into flailing corporations like GameStop, which closely influenced the market and damage hedge funds betting towards the corporate.
